JESUS

I think that there are very few things that have the exact same meaning to every single person, every single time. If you ask my little girl, no means no until my back is turned, then it magically transforms into yes. But, Jesus, who he is, what he is, and what he isn’t’ has never changed. Now some folks may not want to believe or accept who Jesus is. But that doesn’t change him, it changes you.

Hello, and welcome to Faith is Hope,
I’m Dave.

There have been all kinds of speculations or what I call, what if made about Jesus. And I gotta tell you some of the things people are saying really, for lack of a better word “piss” me off. I mean there’s a pastor that said, he supports abortion. He said God gives us a choice, and that’s true, he did. So tell me how’d that choice work out for Adam and Eve? God did give us the ability to choose. He also gave us his commandments, laws, ordinances, and statutes, and those he chose to educate us about them so we’d know the difference between right and wrong and be able to make the right choice. This pastor said that he’s been studying the scripture all his life, and for some reason thinks that supporting abortion is what Jesus would do. Well, I gotta tell you pastor, and all you pastors, ministers, and priests, satan knows the bible inside and out, forwards and backward, and in every language spoken. But Satan isn’t using it to do God’s work, and if you’re perverting God’s word, then you’re not using the scriptures to do God’s work either.

Jesus, who is Jesus? According to the bible. Jesus is the Son of God. Isaiah 7:14 proclaims Jesus’ birth and that his name would be Immanuel, which means “God with us”. You see Jesus is God in the physical form. Look at John 1: 1-2 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was at the beginning with God. And in John 1:32-34 And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him. I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me. “He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit. And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.” Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the son of God. That’s it, full stop, Jesus is, always has been, and always will be.

So, now that we know who Jesus is. How bout we look into what Jesus is?

In Revelations chapters 12 and 17 Jesus is referred to as the Lamb of God. Why? Well, God gave to Moses his Commandments. And later he gave Moses his laws, ordinances, and statutes, which became known as the Mosaic laws; the laws of Moses. And these laws required the Jewish people to make certain types of sacrifices every day, every sabbath, during special feasts, and the annual atonement for their sins. Now one of the sacrifices required was called the blood sacrifice, which was used for the atonement of sin, that their soul should live. One of the animals that were often used as a blood sacrifice was a lamb that was spotless, without blemish. So Jesus was and is the sacrificial lamb. He’s spotless, without blemish (no sin). And so his blood was shed as the atonement for the sins of the world. Jesus was born to be sacrificed, to die for all of us, so that we wouldn’t have to die for our sins. And since Jesus was without sin, without blemish, he was the only true perfect sacrifice for sin. And that’s why we no longer have to perform the blood sacrifices to atone for our sins. Because none of us are perfect, and nothing we have is perfect, no sacrifice that we make will ever be perfect.

Now, we know who Jesus is. He’s the son of God. We know what Jesus is, he’s the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world. Now let’s talk about what Jesus isn’t.

Jesus isn’t hateful, he isn’t prejudiced or divisive, gay or transgender. You see, anything that’s a sin is of this world. And while Jesus was physically in the world for a short period of time, he wasn’t of the world or any of the sinful actions of the world. Hate is a sin, and to this very day, the world hates Jesus, why? Because satan knows that on the third day Jesus rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of the Father. And that Jesus will return to walk on this earth again. To defeat satan, and his army, and to punish those who stood with the evil of the world. Oh yes, Jesus is coming. And when he does, well let’s just say that you don’t want to wait until the last minute to make up your mind about Jesus.

Jesus is my Lord. He is my salvation, my redemption. He is my direct line to talk with my Father in heaven, and the path that I walk to get back to where I and everything else began. With God. And Jesus can be all these things and more if you’ll just ask him into your life. If you give your life to Jesus, now. Jesus will give you everlasting life with God, now. Don’t wait, none of us knows what tomorrow will bring. But I do know that none of us wants to face tomorrow without Jesus.

I’m going to ask a favor of you. Share this website, and share these podcasts with two people every day. Jesus said for where two or more are gathered in my name, I am there. Let all of us, and all those we love come together in the name of Jesus Christ. And let’s all talk to Our Father who art in Heaven.

Hey, I’m Dave – join me next time when I talk about The Birth of Forgiveness and Salvation. And until then, I’ll see you at the Rest Area.
